Congratulations to Mārtiņš Viļums!

During the Great Music Award 2012 ceremony at the Latvian National Opera on February 19, Mārtiņš Viļums' composition Tvyjōraan, first performed by Sinfonietta Riga at the Great Guild Hall on November 3, was awarded as the best new composition of 2012.

Mārtiņš Viļums says: "Tvyjōraan in my self-invented language means "Phenomena". The Composition is probably not easily framed in the traditional sense of form (symphony / chamber symphony). Rather, it may be called a symphonic portrayal. This is one of my subjective compositions, whoes ideas and sounds that shape the process is based on the life of the different worlds touches marked by mental visions."
